Vassilis Maragos, the EU Ambassador to Armenia, held a meeting with the academic staff and students of the Faculty of International Relations at Yerevan State University.
The ambassador, greeting the attendees in Armenian, remarked, "I am learning Armenian. It is a beautiful yet quite difficult language."
During the meeting, the ambassador discussed various aspects of EU-Armenia cooperation, as well as the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Program, under which students continue their education at foreign universities. He specifically highlighted the increased cultural and academic ties with Armenia in recent years.

In this context, the impact of inter-university exchange programs for young people and students, the study of different educational systems, and the comparative analysis of their management processes were emphasized.
Vassilis Maragos also discussed the EU’s investments in Armenia, as well as the economic and political cooperation between Armenia and the EU.
The Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Ph.D., Associate Professor Tigran Yepremyan, presented the newly established "International Relations and Diplomacy" master's program and suggested offering internship opportunities at the Mission of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union for students writing their master's theses on topics related to the EU’s activities.
The meeting was held in an interactive setting and concluded with a Q&A session.
The faculty regularly organizes meetings with foreign diplomatic representatives, experts invited from leading scientific and educational institutions abroad, and ambassadors, with the aim of deepening and expanding partnership ties.
