Political Science

Admission requirements

Admission is organized by the regulations of RA higher education institutions. Admission to the "Political Science" specialty is based on the results of the entrance exams focused on "Armenian History" and "Foreign Language". Applicants with secondary and secondary vocational education can take part in the entrance exams.

The aim of the program

The program aims to train professionals who will have fundamental and applied knowledge of the concepts, theories, and methods of political science, to give the future political scientist the knowledge to work in state administration, international organizations, civil society organizations, and other related fields, to prepare the graduates of the program to work in political consulting, in the field of applied research, political analysis, and consulting. To become a political scientist and understand politics professionally, students will acquire skills in interdisciplinary research and their implementation, which are provided by the curriculum.

A graduate with a Bachelor's degree in "Political Science" can occupy the following positions: specialist and leading specialist in state administration and local self-government bodies, junior researcher in research institutions and research centers attached to universities. Graduates can continue their professional careers with Master's programs at local and foreign universities or get a job in the specialized departments of the relevant institutes of the executive and legislative bodies of the state administration, in the representative offices of international organizations, as well as in think tanks and research structures. Bachelor’s degree holders can also be incorporated into other faculties with humanities majors to obtain a Bachelor's degree with a second major.
