At the initiative of Dean Karlen Khachatryan, the 4-day "Data Visualization" course was held at the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management for 2nd and 3rd-year students.
The course instructor was Garik Harutyunyan, a YSU lecturer and journalist with extensive experience in the field.
Economists, financiers and management specialists constantly work with various and multi-volume data, and to visualize them, make them more accessible, certain knowledge and skills are needed, which is what this course was aimed at.
During the course, students were introduced to the fundamentals of data visualization, made graphs and maps with "Flourish" and "Datawrapper" tools. Additionally, they received professional advice on how to "(not) cheat" with data visualization.
At the end of the comprehensive and very interesting course, Vardan Aleksanyan, Head of the faculty office, handed a letter of appreciation to the instructor Garik Harutyunyan for supporting the initiatives of the Faculty of Economics and Management, and certificates of participation were awarded to the students.
