On October 22-23, 2024, as part of the Erasmus+ Program, Dr. Roman Klimko from the Faculty of Economics and Finance, Bratislava University of Economics (Slovakia), delivered a lecture for third-year students specializing in economics and finance.
During his lecture on "Youth in the Labor Market and International Student Mobility", Dr. Klimko addressed key challenges in the current labor market. He highlighted that while the labor markets in European countries have become more flexible over the last decade, this change has not sufficiently reduced youth unemployment in several European countries. He emphasized the importance of allocating more resources to education and training sectors to better equip young people for jobs that require highly specialized skills.
During the lecture, Dr. Klimko also compared the labor markets of the European Union and the Republic of Armenia. He noted that opportunities for international student mobility could positively impact future hiring processes for students.
The meeting was also attended by Associate Professor Grigor Hayrapetyan, Head of the Chair of Economics and International Economic Relations, responsible for international relations, and Gnel Sahakyan, Head of the Chair of Financial Accounting.
Discussions with Dr. Klimko also covered potential collaboration between the faculties of both universities, focusing on the implementation of joint articles and research programs.
As part of the Erasmus+ program, students in the "Economics" bachelor’s and "Business Administration" master’s programs, as well as postgraduate students from the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, will have the opportunity to study at Bratislava University of Economics (Slovakia) for 4 months during the 2nd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.
