About the program
The "Genocide Studies" program is being implemented at YSU Institute of Armenian Studies.
Admission requirements
The admission for the 2023/2024 academic year through full-time and part-time modes of study will be carried out by the "YSU Master's Degree (full-time and part-time) admission procedure".
The aim of the program
During the course of study, Master's Degree students will study various examples of genocide (Armenian Genocide, Holocaust, Cambodian Genocide, Rwandan Genocide and other mass crimes), questions of international legal responsibility for genocide, the subject of genocide in modern international relations, the ongoing processes in Artsakh, the danger of genocide and opportunities for self-determination, social tactics during the genocide (perpetrators, rescuers, victims and resisters), issues of destruction of cultural heritage, psychological consequences of genocide (trauma, identity issues), and modern models of genocide prevention.
Advantages
The project is implemented in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair for the Prevention of Genocide and Other Mass Crimes and the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
Career opportunities
Upon completion of the program, a Master of International Relations degree is granted.
