General information
The Turkish-Armenian war in 1920 is one of the most important events in the modern Armenian history. Despite the existing interest on this topic, there are still many problems related to the Turkish-Armenian war, which should be studied again. If most of the archival material in Armenia is now in scientific circulation, then surprisingly researchers have largely ignored the Armenian press, which is interesting not only for covering the war on the eve, during and after, but also the perception of the war and its aftermath among the Armenian public in terms of the impact on identity. The anthropological-cultural point of view of the problem has not been comprehensively examined: the identity issues, ideas about Turks. These aspects, in addition to being purely scientific, have a practical significance, because today Armenians are facing real problems and the right choice must be based on thought and knowledge. The multidisciplinary team, in the framework of this program, will study the materials about the Turkish-Armenian war in a complex, which were published in 1920-1940 in the press of the First Republic, Diaspora and Soviet Union. An important place will be given to the aftermath of the war in the context of the identity.
