This project addresses the pressing need for understanding and guiding the territorial development of Armenia in the aftermath of the Soviet Union's dissolution. It acknowledges the unique challenges and contradictions faced by the Armenian society at the same time situating them into the wider global context. The interdisciplinary nature of the project is evident in its focus on sustainable economic development, social cohesion, environmental conservation, poverty alleviation, and peace, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11. The project's aims and objectives focus on exposing the historical context of Armenia's industrial modernization, enhancing knowledge in territorial development, and implementing inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation. The objectives delve into uncovering unique aspects of Soviet modernization strategies at the local level, examining adaptive strategies during the post-Soviet period, and understanding the livelihood and ontological adaptive strategies employed by the society.
