General information
The project is dedicated to the study of peculiarities of immigrants’ religious life in RA. Migration waves have intensified in RA in recent years. The number of immigrants is increasing due the instability and war situations in the Middle East, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the flow of labor immigrants from foreign countries. Some of the immigrants are with Armenian origins. Because of the forcibly displacement from the Republic of Artsakh we have also Artsakh-Armenians. However, the significant number of immigrants are foreigners of various ethnic backgrounds and religious affiliations. The purpose of the project is to investigate the religious life of immigrants in RA, to understand their religious affiliations, the role and importance of religion in their lives, the features of meeting spiritual needs in the new context, the influence of religion on immigration and integration. The project will provide an understanding of religious motivations and reasons for immigration. It will identify the current challenges in the field and offer possible solutions both at the academic level and in the practical work of relevant state institutions. The research will be done with the methodology of religious, ethnographic, historical, sociological, theological, and psychological studies.
