General information
Our project, combining the concept of temporal lensing with the approach of soliton and similariton applications, is targeted to the urgent problems of ultrafast optics and photonics, namely to femtosecond signal generation, manipulation, delivery and characterization. The key objectives are the development and introduction of new effective methods of optical signal syntheses and analysis on the femtosecond time scale for the needs of the large spectrum of contemporary science and technology: ultrafast optics and spectroscopy, femtochemistry, femtobiology, medicine, lightwave communication, information technologies, etc. The project research, includes the following key issues/tasks which can serve as the sub-projects: “solitonic” spectral self-compression for coherent and randomly modulated pulses; generation of broadband and new type of similaritons; similariton pulse compression and pulse shaping; spectral compression and noise suppression-filtering in time lens; time-to-frequency conversion and pulse spectrotemporal imaging and similariton-based self-referencing spectral interferometry.
