General information
In recent decades, valuable research has been conducted in the field of history and ethnography on the repatriation from 1946-1949. Despite this, questions essentially remain open regarding the impact of repatriation on Armenian diaspora and attitudes towards it, the new wave of immigration that resumed in 1962, as well as the problems of repatriation during independence period. Much less attention has been paid to internal movements within the diaspora. This program aims to study why and how Armenians in the diaspora made decisions about repatriation or emigration to other countries in different periods and in different countries. An attempt will be made to determine the scale of the aforementioned process in at least several countries (which part of the community repatriated, emigrated to other countries or remained in place). The discourse on from 1945 to the present day will be examined. The consequences of internal movements within the Armenian diaspora will be highlighted. The repatriation of recent decades will be a separate subject of study (especially the immigration of Lebanese Armenians after 2019). The implementation of the project in the future may contribute to the RA's policy towards the Diaspora and the development of more effective repatriation programs.
