The first graduates of the "American Studies" educational program met the US Ambassador to Armenia
The graduation ceremony of the graduates of the "American Studies" master's educational program was held at the YSU American Studies Center, which was followed by a meeting with the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Kristina Alison Kvien.
The purpose of the meeting with the Ambassador was to discuss the importance and features of the educational program implemented with the support of the US Embassy in Armenia, as well as to highlight ways of developing further cooperation. The head of the educational program Vahagn Aglyan, YSU professors teaching within the framework of the program were also present at the meeting and presented individual components of the educational program, as well as referred to the interest to America, American studies and Armenian-American relations in general, which is growing year by year, involving more students in the educational program.
At the end of the meeting, through a question-and-answer session, both sides presented the answers to the questions they were interested in, as well as the career and post-graduate education perspectives of the graduates.
Then, Kristina Kvien met YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan to discuss opportunities to expand cooperation with US educational institutions and the US Embassy in Armenia. During the meeting, the ways of implementing research programs, student exchange programs and joint academic initiatives were outlined, which will undoubtedly promote intercultural exchange and academic excellence.
YSU rector thanked the Ambassador for her great interest in strengthening educational ties between the two countries.
It should be noted that the "American Studies" master's program is implemented within the framework of cooperation with Arizona State University, including the involvement of ASU (School of Social Transformation) teaching staff as teachers, as well as ASU researchers and professors of Fulbright programs. Moreover, the representatives of the teaching staff of the educational program, at the beginning of the project, went through a special training program at Arizona State University and developed the courses included in the "American Studies" educational program.
