RA national, regional and international security issues the core of experts' research
At the initiative of the YSU Institute of Armenian Studies (IAS), an expert conference titled "The Strategic Foundations and the Challenges of Modernization of RA National Security" was held, the purpose of which was to discuss and highlight the imperatives of RA national security and its modernization at the expert level.
During the conference, IAS experts presented reports on issues of national, regional and international security, including RA national security strategy, the role of economic sanctions in international relations, problems of violation of military, strategic and military-political balance in the region and current developments of relations with bordering states.
Vahram Petrosyan, Director of Institute of Armenian Studies, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, said that the presented scientific research materials will serve as basis of scientific articles, which will be published as a collection, available both for students and for wider circles. Emphasizing the collaboration with the Faculty of International Relations, he emphasized that there is already an agreement to carry out joint research activities in the future.
Tigran Epremyan, Dean of the YSU Faculty of International Relations, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, assured that the programs implemented jointly with IAS on issues related to the field of international relations will be effective. The Dean, referring to the need to highlight strategic issues of national security, emphasized that such discussions contribute to solving existing problems and outlining ways to overcome challenges.
Narek Grigoryan, Head of the RA National Security Research and Forecasting Group of YSU Institute of Armenian Studies, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor, attaching importance to the modernity of the topic and the significance of such conferences, said, "Discussions like this within the framework of the expert community are very important in terms of ensuring the process of public administration in Armenia with a research component, and providing expert consultation."
Researchers from different departments of the Institute of Armenian Studies, representatives of the teaching staff and students participated in the conference.
