Continuous improvement of scientific research in focus
In order to improve laboratory infrastructures, as well as to enrich them with modern equipment, YSU implements many programs and solves problems aimed at increasing the efficiency of the educational process, performing innovative research and developing science. Being funded by the Higher Education and Science Committee of the RA MoESCS, enrichment of the material-technical base of a number of YSU laboratories was implemented.
Under the leadership of YSU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Rafayel Barkhudaryan, the General Secretary of the Higher Education and Science Committee of the RA MoESCS Levon Farmanyan and Deputy Secretary Karen Gharibyan toured YSU basic laboratories. They got acquainted with the equipment purchased and installed in the relevant laboratories within the framework of the competition "Providing financial support for the modernization of the material-technical base of scientific departments", to find out how much they contribute to increasing the efficiency of scientific research works.
Rafayel Barkhudaryan, referring to the cooperation with the Higher Education and Science Committee of the RA MoESCS and the financial support provided within the framework of the latter, noted that this funding program is unprecedented.
"Currently, the quality of research works in various fields of science is determined by the equipment with which researchers work. The accuracy of measurements, the purity of the researched material, as well as other conducted research studies have reached the highest level thanks to the modern equipment.
In case of maintaining and strengthening such cooperative relations, our laboratories will receive state-of-the-art equipment, as a result of which there will be no obstacle to conducting new scientific experiments and implementing new ideas," said R. Barkhudaryan and added that YSU regularly enriches its scientific infrastructures strengthening YSU's reputation as a research institution.
Speaking about the importance of enriching the material and technical base, Yeranuhi Manukyan, Head of YSU Scientific Policy Department, emphasized that the received equipment was installed in nine basic laboratories after passing the appropriate documentation.
"The cooperation between YSU and the Higher Education and Science Committee of the RA MoESCS is at the highest level. All the obligations that Yerevan State University undertakes together with the committee are fulfilled. It should be noted that the acquisition and operation of devices and equipment highly promote the effective organization of the working process," said Yeranuhi Manukyan.
In the interview with us, Levon Farmanyan, Secretary General of the Higher Education and Science Committee of the RA MoESCS, emphasized that YSU actively participates in the tenders for the purchase of equipment, which is encouraging.
"Education and science have always been interconnected, so we hope that the equipment will serve not only the development of science but will also arouse interest among students to engage in science and conduct research," said Levon Farmanyan.
It should be noted that the received devices are used both to conduct scientific research and to improve the quality of the educational process through laboratory work. To support one of YSU's important strategic priorities, the internationalization of the university, specialists intend not only to expand the scope of research but also to develop new ideas.
