New ways of cooperation between Colorado University and YSU discussed
On April 26 and 27, Armenian Ambassador to the USA Lilit Makunts was on a working visit to the State of Colorado, in the cities of Denver, Aurora and Boulder. At the meeting held at the University of Colorado (Denver), Lilit Makunts presented the YSU rector's proposal letter for cooperation, discussed with colleagues the ways of cooperation between YSU and the University of Colorado and the potential development of specialized educational programs.
On April 26, the ambassador met with Stephanie Garnica, Director of Global Business Development at the Denver Agency for Economic Development and Opportunity Office, Kern Garwitz, Chairman and CEO of the World Trade Center Denver, representatives of the municipality and other experts.
The ambassador had a separate meeting with women leaders of various fields, visited the University of Colorado (Denver), met with Associate Dean for Academic Programs Andrey Mikhailitchenko, and had a brief meeting with the representatives of the Armenian Student Association in Boulder student city.
At the meeting held at the University of Colorado (Denver), Lilit Makunts presented the YSU rector's proposal letter for cooperation. The proposal aims to create new ways of cooperation between YSU and the University of Colorado and to develop specialized educational programs. During the visit, the potential ways of economic cooperation with the Republic of Armenia were discussed, highlighting the role and importance of the Armenian community in the development of both the State of Colorado and Armenia.
In Aurora, the most Armenian-populated city in Colorado, the ambassador met with Mayor Mike Coffman. The mayor highly appreciated the activity of the Armenian community, emphasizing that many Armenians contribute to the development of the city and the implementation of various programs.
On April 27, the ambassador met with representatives of the Armenian community of Colorado. At the meeting, she delivered a speech referring to the Armenian-American relations, the works done in that direction in recent years and various other issues.
