"Learn & Work: YSU EXPO-2024" – part 2
Within the framework of "Learn & Work: YSU EXPO-2024", interrelated education and career fairs, conferences, interactive competitions, exhibitions and quizzes were organized.
Educational Fair
At the exhibition, YSU faculties, institutes and centers, as well as YSU STEM High School presented their plans for educational programs, internships and volunteer work, organized quizzes and competitions. The YSU Ijevan branch also participated in the event, introducing its educational services and showcasing the works of the Applied Arts Faculty students.
YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center organized drawing and song competitions under the title "YSU-105".
The YSU History Museum Named After Professor Ludwig Gharibjanyan, the "Matenadaran" Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, the History Museum of Armenia, the Museum of Literature and Art After Yeghishe Charents, the Folk Art Museum After Hovhannes Sharambeyan, the Museum of Russian Art (the collection of Prof. A. Ya. Abramyan) and the "Service For the Protection" SNCO of MoESCS RA had their own boosts at the exhibition.
Participating museums presented educational, cognitive and exhibition programs, as well as other fascinating activities and master classes. Visitors had the opportunity to "travel through time" from the university's foundation to the present day, discover the remarkable episodes of Armenian history, engage in creating miniature art, painting, tapestry and doll-making, as well as explore the biographies of famous Armenian intellectuals, looking through their childhood photos.
At the "Learn & Work: YSU EXPO-2024", the YSU Continuing Education Center organized interactive quizzes for pupils, which provided them the opportunity to test their knowledge in science, humanities, technical and other fields. Winners were awarded incentive prizes.
A "Treasure hunt" quest was held for students, offering them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the university environment through games. It brought together lovers of puzzles and intellectual games, allowing them to re-discover familiar territory on the move.
Career Fair
At the Career Fair, more than 45 best Armenian organizations from the banking, communication, service, manufacturing, crypto-currency, industrial, international development, public, cultural, and research sectors will present the available job opportunities to the visitors, conduct interviews, organize competitions, expand their staff and talk about their achievements.
The main partner of the expo "Fastex" presented the "Fastex" ecosystem at its booth, referring to the "Fastex Exchange" and "Fastex Wallet" applications. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a blockchain raffle on the spot.
Advisor of "Fastex" company Aram Jivanyan pointed out that the goal of becoming a partner of "Learn & Work: YSU EXPO-2024" is to promote the development of education and science in the Republic of Armenia, particularly in the field of blockchain and virtual assets.
"The company is willing to invest the necessary efforts in supporting the provision of high-quality professional education for the youth," he stated.
Discourses on Educational Prospects and Career Opportunities
As part of the expo, a conference titled "Discourses on Educational Prospects and Career Opportunities" was held. It provided an opportunity to delve into the education-labor market linkage, discussing professional orientation and the role of the employer in shaping an educational environment, involving the widest range of beneficiaries.
Rafayel Barkhudaryan, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, and Elina Asriyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at YSU, as well as representatives of partner organizations, delivered speeches on a variety of topics, including "Working with State Bodies", "Finances, Investments in Startup Ecosystem", "Artificial Intelligence", "Non-Technical Professions in Technology", "HR Management Profession Over the Last 10 Years" and more.
During the discourse, renowned and successful individuals from various fields shared their stories regarding their experiences, educational backgrounds and career paths.
Adviser of "Fastex" company Aram Jivanyan presented the topic "Development of Web3: Prospects with Fastex" at the conference titled "Discourses on Educational Prospects and Career Opportunities".
It’s noteworthy that the company plans to implement various cooperative programs with YSU, for example, short-term courses on "Blockchain and Virtual Assets" and professional exchange training initiatives.
Education, Arts, and Prospects for Better Future: All on One Platform
During the fishbowl discussion under the title "Motivating and Demotivating Factors for Students", the factors that make learning easy and interesting or difficult and sometimes tiring were discussed. Students shared their personal experiences and insights, leading to the identification of practical steps to mitigate these problems.
Then the panel discussion titled "Book Publishing Industry: From Writer to Reader" took place, within the framework of which a meeting was organized with representatives of the literature and book publishing sectors, and discussions revolved around the job opportunities in book creation and publishing industry, as well as the peculiarities of the book publishing sector.
The Official Closing Ceremony of the event was followed by the publication of the results of the "YSU Best Student" competition and a festive concert featuring performances by the "YSU Band", "By The Way" musical groups and Srbuk.
High-achieving students from different faculties, who have also been actively engaged in social activities, were announced as winners in the "YSU Best Student" competition.
Thus, YSU's 105th anniversary was celebrated with great pomp, in which many students, applicants, graduates, lecturers, representatives of various organizations and other guests participated.
