YSU ranked 901-950 in QS World University Rankings 2025
Yerevan State University is ranked 901-950 in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and 415 in the QS Europe University Rankings 2024.

Due to active academic activities, international cooperation and commitment to producing high-quality professionals for the labor market, YSU has consistently secured its position in one of the three authoritative rankings of the world's best universities - QS World University Rankings. Additionally, YSU is included in Times Higher Education, which represents the world's best universities.
The Shanghai Ranking, also known as the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), stands out as one of the top three leading global university rankings.
This year, the QS World University Rankings included 1,500 universities from 104 locations. The selection methodology has been enhanced to emphasize metrics such as stability, employment outcomes, and international research network.
The results draw on the analysis of 17.5m academic papers and the expert opinions of over 240,000 academic faculty and employers.
The universities were ranked according to the following indicators:
- Academic Reputation - 30%
- Employer Reputation - 15%
- Faculty Student Ratio - 10%
- Citations per Faculty - 20%
- International Faculty Ratio - 5%
- International Student Ratio - 5%
- International Research Network - 5%
- Employment Outcomes - 5%
- Sustainability - 5%
With over 27,000 universities worldwide, being featured in global university rankings like the QS World University Rankings provides valuable insights into a university's standing in the international market.
"YSU is the only university in Armenia included in the QS World University Rankings. Not only does our university appear on this list every year, but it also improves its position. This achievement is due to YSU's active engagement in enhancing and internationalizing its scientific, educational, and research activities. Key indicators of this success include the university's rising academic reputation, the publication of YSU scientists' articles on prestigious international platforms such as Scopus and Web of Science, the increasing number of citations of these works, and the swift employment of our graduates in the labor market," said Alexander Margarov, Head of YSU International Cooperation Office.
He also highlighted the importance of participating in various international programs, particularly student and specialist exchanges and joint research programs.

This year, YSU was also included in the QS Europe University Rankings 2024, occupying the 415th position.
Speaking about inclusion in similar international and regional tables, YSU International Cooperation Office Head Alexander Margarov noted: "We have a great educational and scientific potential, and we are continuously working towards maximizing it, thereby increasing our ranking and recognition. Being included in such high-ranking global tables is clear proof of that."
More than 688 European universities were included in the QS Europe University Rankings 2024. The universities were evaluated according to the following indicators:
