Korean culture showcase by Korean language learners
The YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center hosted a matinee dedicated to the Korean language and culture, during which the participants of the eight-month Korean course received certificates.
The event aimed to increase interest in the Korean language and culture among the students who participated in the Korean language course at YSU.
Syuzanna Navasardyan, Head of the Chair of Diplomatic Service and Professional Communication at the YSU Faculty of International Relations, valuing the role of the Korean language, noted that the rich Korean culture is spread all over the world, including in Armenia. She underscored that the YSU Faculty of International Relations has been organizing eight-month Korean language courses for six years, engaging not only Yerevan State University’s students, but also students from other universities.
During the matinee, the students studying Korean at YSU presented a performance based on the Korean fairy tale "The Sun and the Moon", demonstrating the mystery of good and evil through fluent Korean and artistic interpretations. Additionally, they recited poems by Korean poets such as Kim Chun-soo's "Flower" and Chung Ho-Sung's "The Stars Are Warm", spicing them up with Korean music.
At the end of the event, Tigran Yepremyan, Dean of the YSU Faculty of International Relations, handed over certificates to the participants of the eight-month Korean language course. He expressed gratitude to Korean language lecturer Hasmik Tsհagharyan for inspiring students with a passion for the language and enriching their understanding of Korean culture. Tigran Yepremyan highlighted that such events contribute to promoting awareness of Korean culture in Armenia.
The event was attended by faculty members and students from the YSU Faculty of International Relations, as well as members of the Armenian Association of Teachers of Korean.
The matinee was organized in collaboration with the YSU Korean Class at the Faculty of International Relations and the Charles Aznavour Cultural Center.
