Enhancing Armenia-America educational ties: cooperation agreement signed
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Dan Davidson, Founding President of the American Councils for International Education (ACTR/ACCELS), recognizing the need and possibility of developing partnership relations between Armenia and the USA in the educational and scientific fields, signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions.
Since 1996, the American Councils for International Education (ACTR/ACCELS) has implemented over a dozen programs, providing high school students, 1,400 university students, educators, and faculty representatives with opportunities to study, conduct research, and develop professional skills.
Additionally, numerous American students, scientists, and professionals have come here to study Armenian or other regional languages, engage in academic research, participate in reciprocal visits, or undergo professional internships.
Due to the established cooperation between YSU and the organization, exchanges of lecturers and administrative staff will be carried out, training courses will be organized for faculty members, and there will be student exchanges for both research and teaching purposes.
Moreover, collaborative educational programs, curricula, academic meetings, symposia, scientific seminars, and summer schools will be initiated.
According to the agreement, the parties will carry out joint research activities and participate in grants provided by international, state and private foundations and organizations.
Both parties expressed optimism that this established cooperation will serve as the foundation for fruitful activity, further expanding and deepening.
