From professional passion to scientific interests: YSU Best Student's journey to success
Garegin Vardevanyan's purposeful endeavors throughout his studies and his continual drive to expand his knowledge have been key to his achievements. He is currently in his second year of the "Service" master's program at the YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology. Excelling in studies, science and other fields, Garegin has earned the title of "YSU Best Student."
A passion for geography, along with taking a prize place in the republican "Geography" Olympiad organized by YSU, significantly influenced the choice of profession and directed him to YSU. He shared insights about his journey and achievements.
Participation in Various Programs and Courses to Broaden Knowledge
Before entering university, I participated in the "Just Dilijan It" international IB program, which focused on implementing social programs and fostering intercultural dialogue among young people from different countries. The knowledge and experiences gained through this program, combined with my interests in service organization and sector development, eventually led me to the "Service" master’s program at YSU. Additionally, years ago, I took part in a republican debate tournament as part of the "Youth Involved in Society" program.
The Title of Best Has Always Followed Garegin
In 2020, as one of Armenia’s top 70 students, I received an invitation from the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (MoESCS) to participate in an event presenting Armenia’s transformation strategy. This opportunity was a responsible and binding milestone for me. This year, I was honored with the title of "Best Participant" at the Model United Nations conference organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the United Nations Office in Armenia. Currently, I am preparing to take part in an international conference with a similar format.
Developing the Birthplace's Potential Through Targeted Training
Over the past year, I participated in training courses organized by the Ecotourism Association in Armenia, focusing on tourism policies, marketing, and management. This year, I successfully completed the pre-qualification program at Fast Bank, gaining practical skills and a comprehensive understanding of banking and risk management. Through these experiences, I aim to leverage the diverse opportunities within my profession and apply my skills across various directions of service organization.
I am also actively involved in development projects within my community, Alaverdi Town, and I am committed to continuing this involvement. In recent years, I have created several business projects, the successful implementation of which is set to bring new breath and positive changes to my hometown.
Study Results on Modern Problems Included in Scientific Articles
I presented my first scientific article titled "Features of the Development of Modern Types of Services in Alaverdi Community" at the 8th International Conference of YSU SSS. In the article, I concluded that developing certain branches of the "green" economy is essential. In the article, I suggested that we should develop branches of the "green" economy that not only preserve nature but also create conditions for people to organize their lives, while remaining economically competitive. Examples of such branches include tourism and apitherapy, both of which the town has significant potential to develop.
I presented my second article "Spatiotemporal Interaction of Living Relationships and Digitization in Service," at the 9th International Conference of YSU SSS. In the article, I explored various patterns, specifically examining the relationship between the significant role of the service sector in the economy's gross output and the levels of digital tools and globalization.
I think that after completing the "Service" master's program, I will have a broad range of job opportunities available to me, as the program covers both marketing and public administration principles.
