Yerevan State University (YSU), RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure and Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) signed a tripartite memorandum. The document was signed by YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan and General Director of ZCMC Roman Khudoliy. The parties agreed to collaborate on joint projects in geology, mining, mine exploitation, mining metallurgy, hydrogeology and other related fields.
The memorandum signing ceremony took place during the Mining Armenia Forum.
Students from the YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology will have the opportunity to engage in production practices and internship programs, contribute to the design of the company's development initiatives, and participate in experience exchange events in various formats.
According to Yerevan State University Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, this cooperation is the best example that science and industry should walk together to strengthen each other and make continuous progress.
"Through our joint efforts, we will be able to combine our potential and resources in key areas for our country, contributing to the modernization of educational programs, the introduction of innovations, and the sustainable development of the national economy. This collaboration will also provide opportunities for our students and researchers to engage in experimental platforms and exchange experiences with leading specialists, which will be crucial for applying and modernizing the results of scientific research," noted the YSU rector.
The General Director of Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine, Roman Khudoliy, emphasized that education is the most important component of the company's social programs.
"Acquiring and strengthening practical knowledge, doing research work in modern and well-equipped laboratories enhances the quality of education. Through such joint programs, we not only develop the professional skills and research potential of the younger generation, but also foster interest in a number of key mining professions. As a responsible company, we recognize the importance of cooperation between the private sector and universities and always keep this cooperation in the center of our attention," said Roman Khudoliy.
The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure expressed its willingness to ensure educational internships for students at the ministry and the "Republican Geological Fund" SNCO. Additionally, materials available at the SNCO will be provided for conducting scientific research.
"The qualification of the labour force across all specialities is a top priority for us, and the fields of geology and mining are no exception. Vacancies in these professions motivate us to take action and seek solutions. Through negotiations with the parties, we have established cooperation in several directions, aiming to involve more students in these important fields and ensure their development with the contributions of students," emphasized Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan.
The actions specified in the memorandum take effect for a period of five years from the date of signing.
