YSU men's football team secures second place in Futsal Cup

The final stage of the Futsal Cup, part of the 25th Armenian Student Sports Games, was held at Yerevan State University. The YSU men's football team competed against the team from M. Nalbandyan State University of Shirak (SUSh) and secured second place.

In the Futsal Cup, the SUSh men's football team secured first place, YSU took second, and the team from Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi took third place.

Professor Vladimir Avagimyants, Head of the Chair of Physical Education and Sports at YSU, emphasized that the YSU men's football team consists of students from nearly all faculties.

"Upper-year students pass on their experience to first-year students so that the team can consistently achieve success and maintain the university's honor in republican competitions," noted Professor Avagimyants.

He also mentioned that in 2023, the YSU men's football team again competed in the final stage against the team from the State University of Shirak.

Professor Avagimyants further highlighted that the YSU women's volleyball team triumphed over the team from Brusov State University and advanced to the final, where they will compete for first place against the women's volleyball team of the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport.

The 25th Armenian Student Sports Games launched this spring and are being held with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the Armenian Student Sports Federation.
