Armed with knowledge and guided by set goals: Sahak Gulakyan among the top students

The story of Sahak Gulakyan, one of the winners of the 2024 competition for awarding named scholarships to the top-performing students of Armenian universities ("Best Student"), attests to how determination and persistence can help overcome difficulties and achieve outstanding results. Sahak's journey serves as an example for young people striving for success, not only in their academic life but in life in general.

During his academic journey, Sahak achieved numerous accomplishments, standing out for his perseverance and hard work. He emphasizes the idea that success can only be attained when one engages in the work they love and dedicate themselves to fully.

According to him, self-confidence and love for one's chosen profession are crucial; only then can a person succeed in their professional field and make significant progress. Returning to his studies after mandatory military service was the greatest challenge for Sahak, but he proved that the desire to learn can overcome any obstacle.

As Sahak notes, the main source of his motivation is his curiosity towards his field of study. "When you are genuinely interested in a subject, everything comes easily," he says.

Valuing the role of the university's teaching staff in fostering interest in a subject, Sahak highlights: "I have had many excellent teachers and lecturers, each of whom has made a unique contribution to my success. However, I would like to single out Associate Professor Gevorg Simonyan, Head of the Chair of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at YSU Ijevan Branch, who greatly supported me with his advice and became my main guide on my professional path."

Despite his busy schedule, Sahak does not use special methods for organizing and coordinating his work. His simple approach of doing everything on time helps him maintain work efficiency.

Regarding future plans, he states that his primary goal is to become a skilled specialist. "Collaborating with the best specialists in the field, conducting scientific work with my peers, and having a good research team are the foundations for establishing a successful career in science," he emphasizes, highlighting the importance of teamwork for professional development.

Sahak is currently working on new ideas and projects, though he prefers not to disclose details for the time being. He advises students to pursue work that genuinely inspires them, as this is the key to success.

Sahak is convinced that the main factor in becoming the best student is being useful to society with one's knowledge and skills. "I simply want to be a skilled specialist and make positive changes in my field," he concludes.
