New state-of-the-art auditorium opened at YSU with the support of UAE Embassy
A solemn opening ceremony took place at YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies, marking the launch of a newly equipped auditorium featuring modern educational technologies. The auditorium has been upgraded with advanced equipment through the support of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, expressing his gratitude to the UAE Embassy, emphasized the importance of the embassy's support and collaboration in implementing new ideas and projects, as well as advancing Arabic language teaching at YSU to a higher level.
The rector highlighted the significance of the auditorium renovation within the framework of collaboration, stating, "We discussed this idea months ago, and today it has become a reality. This auditorium will hold great importance for students, contributing to deepening their linguistic and cultural knowledge, particularly in understanding the social, political, and cultural specifics of the United Arab Emirates."
The Rector also emphasized that YSU places considerable focus on technological education and the enhancement of educational quality through modern technological resources: "This is an integral part of our strategic program. Thanks to this auditorium, we expect to not only deepen our existing collaboration but also promote research, educational, and exchange programs with universities in the UAE."
Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Melkonyan, in turn, underscored the importance of the auditorium in improving the efficiency of the educational process, noting that it will serve two key purposes: "First, students will gain a stronger command of the Arabic language and master it more thoroughly. Second, the auditorium will contribute to the effort of finding common ground between peoples, cultures, and religions. This collaboration allows for the expansion of students' professional horizons."
Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Armenia, Nariman AlMulla, emphasized the willingness to collaborate with Yerevan State University and expressed her gratitude for the partnership.
"I am grateful for the warm reception. We attach great importance to expanding collaboration between educational institutions. I hope this is only the first step towards the realization of many joint projects," she remarked.
The opening ceremony was followed by discussions on the development of collaboration. The event was attended by the teaching staff members of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies, as well as students who were introduced to the technological capabilities of the new auditorium.
