Modernizing the content and methodology of education: Innovative solutions in YSU educational system
Yerevan State University continues to firmly maintain its leading position among higher education institutions in Armenia, combining the best traditions with educational innovations. Elina Asriyan, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, has shared insights on the university's innovative programs, student-centered approach, and strategic vision.

Elina Asriyan emphasizes that the primary goal of the university's educational framework is to create an environment where students not only receive high-quality education but also become fully engaged in university life and later succeed in their chosen professional fields.
Student-Centric Approach as the Foundation of the Educational Process
Speaking about the student-centered approach, which serves as a core principle of Yerevan State University's operations, Elina Asriyan notes: "The student-centered approach is the axis around which all our initiatives revolve. We prioritize success and academic engagement."

One prominent example of this approach is the "Mobility Window" initiative, the first of its kind in Armenia, which allows students to choose any course from related educational programs that align with their areas of interest.
"This program fosters students' academic interests and comprehensive development," adds the vice-rector.
International Cooperation and New Opportunities
To promote the internationalization process, Yerevan State University continues to develop joint and double degree educational programs, as well as pursue international accreditation for its academic programs.
"International partnership is an integral part of our strategy. We are developing joint and double degree educational programs, which provide our students with the opportunity to receive higher education not only in Armenia but also at top universities abroad," says Elina Asriyan.

The university is also making significant efforts to ensure that the educational programs at Yerevan State University meet international high standards. "The availability of educational programs accredited internationally is crucial for attracting foreign students and enhancing the university's visibility. Currently, we have four educational programs accredited internationally, and another six are in the accreditation process. This increases the university's reputation and recognition in the global educational arena," she notes.
Digitalization and Distance Education
Yerevan State University also places significant importance on the digitalization process of the educational system.
"Today, all stages of the academic process at the university are carried out using digital tools. For instance, in the Registrar system, each student has the opportunity to monitor their academic progress, register for courses, and maintain constant communication with their lecturers," notes the vice-rector.
YSU has already developed two distance learning courses, one of which, the "Fundamentals of Psychology" course, is already available to students.
Psychological Support and Student Well-being

One of the university's most important initiatives is the organization of psychological support for students. The establishment of a psychological clinic at YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology has brought one of these ideas to life. The faculty's master's students provide free psychological services to other students.
"This program not only helps our master's students improve their professional skills but also ensures that students receive psychological support by offering high-quality counseling services," emphasizes Elina Asriyan.
YSU will also develop new forms of support related to providing psychological and professional assistance to students.

YSU as a Leading Educational Institution
The university continuously enhances the educational process. The development of interdisciplinary master's theses, the establishment of a language center, and the introduction of distance learning courses are all aimed at educational innovation.
"We have a long-term strategic plan, one of the goals of which is the continuous improvement of the quality of education. One of our primary goals is to ensure the well-being and success of our students," concludes Elina Asriyan.
