Results of Chemistry Olympiad Republican Stage summarized at YSU
The results of the Republican Stage of the Chemistry Olympiad were summarized at Yerevan State University, where the top-performing participants were awarded. A total of 83 students, who had advanced from the school and regional stages, competed in the republican stage of this scientific competition.

The olympiad was organized in collaboration with YSU Faculty of Chemistry, the Institute of Pharmacy, and the Organizing Committee of the Republican Chemistry Olympiad of Armenia. The competition was divided into two sub-phases: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical phase, students were given questions and tasks, while in the practical phase, participants conducted chemical experiments in the educational laboratories of the Faculty of Chemistry and the Institute of Pharmacy.
The event also featured discussions with chemistry teachers regarding the olympiad’s tasks as well as a number of organizational and field-related issues.

YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, highly appreciating the hosting of the republican stage of the olympiad at the university, stated: "We greatly value the development of the field of chemistry, and our contribution to the advancement of this scientific domain will continue. I hope that many of the young participants present here will later become students of the YSU Faculty of Chemistry, achieving new successes in the field and contributing to the development of science."

Armen Galstyan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Head of the Faculty Office, presented the overall results of the republican stage of the olympiad and said: "Year after year, participating students show higher results in the olympiad, but there is still much to be done. By providing extensive opportunities for conducting both theoretical and practical phases at YSU, we aim to stimulate students' growing interest in the field."
Andranik Davinyan, Chairman of the Republican Chemistry Olympiad Committee, highlighted the importance of this year’s results, emphasizing: "I am pleased to note that this year, 9th and 10th graders have outperformed 11th and 12th graders with their results, and most of the winners are from regional areas. This shows that the interest in chemistry is increasing in various regions of Armenia."

The winners of the olympiad were awarded certificates of recognition, appreciation letters, and gift books. The top 25 students, who placed in the 1st to 3rd ranks, received individual motivational gifts.
This is the sixth year that the Republican Stage of the Chemistry Olympiad has been held at YSU, where the necessary conditions for future scientists are provided. This scientific competition once again emphasized that the development of science and the quality education of the new generation are among the university’s priorities.
The closing ceremony of the olympiad was attended by YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, the dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, the director of the Institute of Pharmacy, representatives from the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, industry professionals, teachers, and students.
Subject olympiads are aimed at assessing the level of interest in a particular subject and encouraging students with the potential to continue their fruitful work in the respective field.
