One educational program, two diplomas, and numerous opportunities
Ensuring high-quality education and fostering innovation within the academic system are among the top priorities of YSU Faculty of European Languages and Communication (FELC). Beginning in the 2025–2026 academic year, undergraduate and graduate students of the faculty will have an exceptional opportunity to enroll in a dual-diploma master’s program jointly implemented by YSU and the University of Lille (France). The program aims to prepare a new generation of professionals in international communication.

Initiated by Dr. Gayane Sargsyan, Head of the Chair of French Philology at FELC, the master’s program in International and Business Communication will award graduates a diploma from both Yerevan State University and the University of Lille. This marks the faculty’s first dual-diploma program.
Why is this program important for students?
The launch of this master’s program is a significant step for students of both YSU and the University of Lille. The program will be delivered in two stages—beginning in Armenia and continuing in France. This is not merely a change of location, but an enriching academic and cultural experience. As part of the program, student exchanges will be organized: students from the University of Lille will come to Yerevan to participate in YSU courses, while YSU students will continue their studies in France during the second semester.

Both YSU and the University of Lille’s leading specialists will be involved in the teaching process. Professors from the University of Lille will deliver intensive, modular courses in Armenia, preparing students for an international educational environment. The curriculum is structured to intertwine linguistic knowledge with the development of practical skills. The courses will cover not only advanced language studies but also the art of international negotiations, communication strategies, and the dynamics of business communication.
Who is eligible to apply?
Students of the Faculty of European Languages and Communication may apply to the program and must first pass an interview stage. Applicants from other faculties will be assessed based on their academic background and alignment with the program’s academic and professional requirements.
Additional information about the program, including the application deadlines and process, will be published soon on the official website of YSU.
How was the program developed to meet international standards?
As part of the program development, representatives of the FELC visited the University of Lille. During the visit, both educational content and technical organization aspects were discussed, and specific steps were taken to strengthen the partnership.

"This is more than just an academic collaboration. It is a platform where our students are provided extensive opportunities that prepare them to become internationally competitive professionals in line with market demands," noted Gayane Sargsyan.
This new initiative affirms YSU’s commitment not only to delivering quality education but also to paving the way for its students into the international arena. A dual diploma is not merely a document—it is an experience, an opportunity to engage with a new culture and people, and a source of confidence that fosters professional competitiveness at the highest levels.
