THE YSU STUDENT CONTINUES TO STUDY AT SAN JOSE STATE UNIVERSITY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF A MASTER'S PROGRAM

Even though the YSU student formulates complex problems within the framework of the profession, and develops algorithms for solving them, she still defines her success formula simply: infinite dedication to the profession.
It is noteworthy that before applying to the Master's program, Maria received her Undergraduate education at the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics of YSU, gaining valuable knowledge and skills related to the field.
Referring to the change of profession, Maria says, "After graduating from the faculty, I decided to specialize in the field of machine learning. Today, it is one of the important sectors that ensure the technological progress of the economy and is closely related to data science. Striving to be a specialist with something new to say in that field, I chose the Master's program "Data Science in Business".
The program indeed offers wide opportunities, but the YSU student also notes that it is necessary to invest a lot of effort and energy to understand the information received and to fulfill the given assignments.
According to her, the role of young professionals lecturing within the program is invaluable in acquiring the skills to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. Most of them are YSU graduates, who work in prestigious companies in the IT sector and transfer their professional experience to students.

Maria is the first student of the Master's program "Data Science in Business" in collaboration with the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), the Innovative Solutions and Technology Center (ISTC), and the support of PMI Science to continue her studies at San Jose State University. The credits she received in her first year at YSU were officially accepted by the state of California.
Speaking about continuing her education in the US, the future specialist in machine learning emphasizes, "There are significant differences between the educational systems of Armenia and the USA. However, when I started studying at San Jose State University, I realized that I am not only not inferior to the local students in terms of my knowledge, but I am also able to compete with them," says Maria.
It is noteworthy that Maria will defend her Master's thesis both at Yerevan State University (online version) and at San Jose State University. Thanks to the formed institutional connections, students of the master's program in cooperation with various research organizations ("PMI Science" scientific research center, English "TurinTech", etc.) write such theses, which will be important for the field in the future.
According to Ruben Gevorgyan, professor of the Faculty of Economics and Management of YSU, the head of the Master's program, with the departure of Maria, the cooperation with foreign partners enters a new phase: the double diploma program will be implemented.
"This proves that the Master's program "Data Science in Business" provides the kind of education that is also accepted by the prestigious international university," assures R. Gevorgyan.
In the conversation, the professor emphasizes, "San Jose State University is located in the heart of Silicon Valley, which is a great advantage for students as well." It cooperates with the world's best IT companies, such as "Apple", "Google", "Meta", and "Amazon". Maria, like other students studying at the university within the framework of the master's program, will be allowed to work in these organizations in the future...".
