COMBINING EDUCATION AND FAMILY. THE STUDENT OF THE FACULTY OF ARMENIAN LITERATURE OF YSU
Liana Asatryan is studying at YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology, in the second year of her Master's degree studies. During the interview, we touched upon the relevance of the Master's thesis topic, the invaluable role of the family in the successes, plans, etc.
- Liana, what caused you to choose the profession of a linguist? Why did you decide to study at YSU?
- The role of my teacher was great in the matter of my professional orientation. Her character and perfect knowledge of the Armenian language inspired me to become a specialist with valuable knowledge related to the field. Having learned about the importance of YSU in the scientific and educational system of Armenia, I chose the university and entered the Faculty of Armenian Philology. I was sure that it was at YSU that I would have the opportunity to get a quality education and become a competitive specialist in high demand in the labor market.
- Recalling the previous years spent at the university, how would you rate student life?
- I have been a member of both the Student Council and the Student Scientific Society since my first year of Undergraduate studies. Thanks to the various events organized by the initiative of student organizations, I enriched my professional knowledge, acquired many skills, and took steps in the field of science. Undoubtedly, the role of both organizations was invaluable in terms of receiving informal education and having an active student life.
During my student years, my worldview changed, I began to look at all issues from a different perspective, giving them unique solutions.
- Now, you are studying for the Master's degree and preparing the thesis. What subject do you cover and why is it important?
- The subject of the Master's thesis is grammar and the 2nd phase of Indo-European comparative linguistics. Essentially, it will become fact-finding material, which the reader will have the opportunity to learn in detail about the role of young grammarians in the development of linguistics.
- You are one of those university students who combine education and family. How do you manage to do that?
- You know, it can be answered in a single word: desire. In general, when you set goals, you should also be prepared for various challenges. These goals can be achieved through hard work and continuous education. In my case, the family has also been the strength that has helped me not to give up when facing difficulties.
- According to you, what role do educated mothers play in strengthening the family-society-state chain link?
- Having an educated society is one of the main guarantees of the state's development. The following idea of Mkhitar Ghosh remains relevant at all times, "Educated women are a treasure for any society." Educated people have a high-value system, in the formation and development of which Yerevan State University has an invaluable role. As the graduates of the university later become family builders with noble values and the family is the foundation of society.
- Reflect on your goals. Would you elaborate?
- Of course. One of my most important goals is to get a Postgraduate education. I fully hope that by further deepening my knowledge, I will contribute to the development of the university and Armenia in general with my activities.
