This is evidenced by the fact that in 1600 the number of universities in the world was more than 100.”
YSU IS 99 YEARS OLD: CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES BY STUDENTS On May 16, 1919, the Council of Ministers of the First Republic of Armenia adopted a historic decision to establish a university in Yerevan. Founded in the hard and difficult times, the university became the spiritual lighthouse of hope and dreams of our people. Having founded the university, the Armenian people responded to the fate, the massacre, the genocide and the destruction by opposing its constructive, thoughtful and creative spirit.
