YSU HOSTED SHMUEL POLISHCHUK, SENIOR ADVISOR TO THE DIRECTOR OF “NATIV” AGENCY
Acting Rector of YSU Gegham Gevorgyan hosted today Shmuel Polishchuk, Senior Advisor to the Director of “Nativ” Agency and Rimma Varzhapetyan, Representative of the Jewish Community of Armenia.
YSU Vice-rector Artur Israyelyan, head of YSU Department of International Cooperation Alexander Markarov, dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Melkonyan and head of the Chair of Arabic Studies Hayk Kocharyan were present at the meeting.
Greeting the guests Gegham Gevorgyan presented them the history and current activity of YSU.
“Nativ” Agency's Senior adviser expressed gratitude for the meeting and hoped that it would be effective and a good start for cooperation.
He informed about “Nativ” Agency, that it was the so-called sub-ministry of the largest ministry headed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He said that they cooperate with various embassies of different countries and Israeli embassies there and look forward to a successful cooperation with Yerevan State University.
Gegham Gevorgyan said that the establishment of the center at Yerevan State University will be useful for studying the positive experience of Israel.
After the meeting the guests went to the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
The guests were informed that Hebrew is already being taught as a second foreign language at the YSU Chair of Arabic Studies, and the creation of the center will be very helpful in getting to know Israeli culture.
