“ONE BELT, ONE ROAD”. ARMENIAN-CHINESE CONFERENCE AT YSU
The conference “One Belt One Road” started today at YSU Academic Council Session Hall.
The conference was organized by YSU and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The cooperation between YSU and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was established in 2018, when Centre for Chinese studies was established at the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
In an interview with ysu.am Vice-rector on International Cooperation and Public Relations Arthur Israelyan said that within one year the cooperation has been expanded.
“This is 2nd conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the YSU and the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China," noted the Vice-rector of YSU.
According to him the development of orientalism is of strategic importance for our country.
He also highlighted the fact that the development of Chinese studies is a priority for YSU.
Head of the Department of International Cooperation of YSU Alexander Markarov at the opening of the conference he said that in order to make the cooperation between YSU and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences more meaningfull, it is necessary to discuss research topics that will be of interest to both sides.
“The world is becoming more and more glocal today. It is both global and glocal today. And in this context, the distance between Armenia and China is only in kilometers, and in terms of ideas and goals the two countries are very close”: said Alexander Markarov.
The reports refer to peculiarities and perspectives of the "One Belt, One Road" project, as well as the peculiarities of Armenian-Chinese relations.
