STATEMENT BY ARTUR VAGHARSHYAN, MEMBER OF YSU BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON THE FAILED MEETING OF FEBRUARY 20TH
It should be reminded that the proposed agenda of the meeting included the presentation of the rector's report on the main activities of the Yerevan State University Foundation for the 2018-19 academic year and the 2016-2020 report on confirmation of the implementation of the activities foreseen by the Yerevan State University Foundation Development Strategy for the 2018-19 academic year.
The proposed agenda also included the 2019 fund of the Yerevan State University Foundation. (January-December) Income and Expenditure Performance Report.
But the Board of Trustees meeting did not take place.
The meeting was not attended by both academics and members nominated by the Authorized Body and considered to be YSU partner employers.
In addition, the student members did not confirm their presence, thus expressing their protest against the reduction of the number of student members in the RA draft law on Higher Education and Science.
After the failed meeting Arthur Vagharshyan made a statement.
According to her the processes have gone beyond the legal framework.
The processes are going to create an uncontrollable effect.
The university failed because it failed to nominate its candidate within a year.
The government also failed because they were unable to nominate anyone within a year and to say clearly that he was the candidate for YSU Rector.
He said, that հe doesn't accept people who haven't done anything for the university but demand endlessly, people who get a few colors a day.
