AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF HAYRAPET MARGARYAN HAS STARTED AT YSU FACULTY OF HISTORY
A two-day international conference entitled "Caucasus Region: History, Politics and Culture" has started today at YSU Faculty of History.
The conference organized on the initiative of the Chair of History of the Neighboring Countries of Armenia was dedicated to the 71st anniversary of the former head of the chair, famous Armenologist-Caucasian professor Hayrapet Margaryan.
It should be noted that it is held within the framework of the scientific theme "The Armenian Diaspora in the System of Interethnic Relations of the Multiethnic Region (by the Example of Krasnodar Territory)" guaranteed by the RA Committee on Education, Science, Sports, Culture and the Russian Fund for Basic Studies.
Dean of the Faculty of History Edik Minasyan made an opening speech at the event, welcoming the participants and noting that the aim of the conference is to acquaint the young generation with the scientific heritage of the famous historian, sourceologist and Georgian expert, so that students can use his works and the human image of Hayrapet Margaryan as a scientist will become a guide in their future life and activity.
Welcoming the guests YSU Acting Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan noted that a conference dedicated to the memory of Artak Movsisyan had been organized quite recently. "Unfortunately, the epidemic took away the best of us.
Mr. Margaryan was a unique specialist in his field and a well-developed person. He was one of the best specialists in the Faculty of History, we should not spare any effort and energy for new ones to replace such best specialists," he said.
