"YSU SCIENTISTS ARE WORKING TO DEVELOP ORGANIC CHEMISTRY". VALENTIN NENAIDENKO
Professor Valentin Nenaidenko, Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry of Moscow State University, gave a lecture on "Dichlorodiazadienes as universal building blocks for heterocycles" at YSU Chemistry Faculty.
During the lecture, the leading specialist in organic chemistry spoke about reactions and selective methods that make it possible to create new molecules and then study their interactions. Foreign consultant of the scientific topic "Asymmetric organocatalysis on the support of azoles: "synthesis and activity" V. Nenaidenko also touched on high-energy materials, presenting their simplest examples.
YSU Chemistry Faculty Dean Tariel Ghochikyan emphasized the strong working relationship with the speaker, stating that it is also maintained with the students of the faculty.
As a sign of strengthening the close cooperation between the two countries, Valentin Nenaidenko presented the faculty with a book that presents the history of organic chemistry research in Russian universities.
Armen Galstyan, head of the above-mentioned scientific topic, YSU chemistry faculty vice-dean, told us that such visits are not one-sided: within the framework of the grant program, YSU scientists will also visit Moscow State University. According to A. Galstyan, mutual visits contribute to the international recognition of the university and the expansion of the scope of cooperation.
Speaking about the importance of such lectures, the vice-dean of the Faculty of Chemistry noted that they are a good opportunity for students to listen to specialists who have an international reputation and have made a great contribution to the development of the field. According to him, in the rapidly developing world, it is difficult to spread new information through printed books, which will prove the significant changes in the field, and such lectures fill that gap. The vice-dean of the Faculty of Chemistry emphasized that the lecture will contribute to the popularization of research in this field of science.
Comparing the teaching methods in the educational institutions of the two countries, as well as reflecting on the development of the field in Armenia and in particular at YSU, the author of more than 430 articles V. Nenaidenko emphasized, "Armenia had and has a key role in the field of organic chemistry. Even today, we see that YSU scientists are doing serious work to develop the field.
The professor also referred to the development of material science in Armenia, stating that YSU has a great role and essential importance in educating specialists in the field.
Anahit Jilikyan, President of SSS of the YSU Chemistry Faculty, highlighted the importance of the foreign scientist's lecture for the students. According to Anahit, it created a new interest in the profession and served as an inspiration in terms of making progress in professional activities.
It should be noted that Valentin Nenaidenko visited YSU in 2006 in connection with the organization of the Mendeleev International Olympiad, then, strengthening cooperation with YSU scientists, he assisted in the implementation of a number of grant programs.
