EVENTS DIRECTED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHILOSOPHY IN YSU
Today, on the Philosopher and Student's International Days at YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology a memorandum of understanding was signed with the " Arevahovit: Platform of Armenian Value System Unity" cultural-scientific-educational foundation, and monetary awards were given to the winners of the pre-announced essay contest.
Within the framework of cooperation, it is planned to organize various events aimed at the development of philosophical science, including scientific conferences, seminars, and lectures, as well as publication of professional literature, methodological manuals, research works, periodicals, etc.
YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology Dean Aleksan Baghdasaryan, emphasizing this cooperation in the conversation with us, referred to the competition organized within its framework. "The competition organized within the framework of cooperation with the Foundation is one of the best ways to increase interest in philosophy. It is noteworthy that students of different faculties of other universities could apply for it. It can be said that it also contributes to the strengthening of inter-university ties," said the dean.
Vano Dadoyan, the founder of the Cultural-Scientific-Educational Foundation "Arevahovit. Platform of Armenian Value System Unity" valued the cooperation with YSU. According to him, the university plays an important role in the development of the sector.
"It is no coincidence that the basis of the announced competition was to emphasize the role of philosophy in the modern world. Nowadays, it has a tendency to develop as a science. By the way, in our plans, we aim to organize such conferences, within the framework of which the work of the teaching staff will be encouraged," emphasized Dadoyan.
According to the organizer of the competition, Associate Professor Silva Petrosyan, the steps aimed at the development of the field of philosophy should be significantly increased. Referring to the organization of the competition, she mentioned. "Philosophy is a subject of state concern, and its promotion is extremely important. I think this competition is one of the best steps taken in that direction."
It is noteworthy that students from different universities took part in the competition, of which the winners were three students from YSU and one from the European University of St. Petersburg.
Myasnik Sahakyan, the winner of the competition, the president of the Faculty's SC, highlighted the role of such competitions in his conversation with us. According to Myasnik, they also provide an opportunity to develop scientific thinking.
Speaking from his impressions, he mentioned, "Such contests are welcome because they stimulate the development of philosophy and other, not so modern, fields. In the essay on "Modern Armenian crises and philosophy", I analyzed the crisis cases of the last few years, pointing out the cause-and-effect relationship between the neglect of philosophy and the problems that arose, and emphasizing the importance of philosophy in solving these problems.
We should add that at the end of the event, the sides gifted each other with professional books.
