SERIES OF WEBINARS DEDICATED TO QUANTUM OPTICS AT YSU
On November 14, the student branch of the International Organization of Opticians ("YSO Student Chapter") operating under the Faculty of Physics of YSU, in cooperation with the SSS of the Faculty of Physics, held a regular series of webinars dedicated to quantum optics on the online platform.
The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize with the latest news and applications of quantum optics.
The series of scientific meetings were established back in 2020 and have so far hosted scientists from the University of Trento in Italy, the Technical University of Denmark, and Yerevan State University. The series will have a logical continuation, to contribute the acquisition and deepening of students' knowledge of rapidly developing quantum technologies.
It should be noted that "YSO" is the united branch of two international optics organizations, "SPIE" and "Optica" at YSU. The branches of the above-mentioned organizations have operated independently at YSU for approximately 20 years; however, having united in February 2022, they formed "YSO" ("Yerevan State University SPIE and Optica Student Chapter").
"YSO" has already organized many events this year, including the "Physics and Us" summer camp and the International School for Modern Applications of Optics and Photonics (MAOP 2022).
