MEETINGS WITH PROMINENT ARTISTS CONTINUE AT YSU
A meeting-discussion dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Armenian film director, screenwriter and actor Frunze Dovlatyan took place at YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center, during which the film "Apretsek Yerkar" (“Live long”) was shown.
Jazz musician, People's Artist of RA, professor Martin Vardazaryan, professor of Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema, former rector, honored figure of art of RA Davit Muradyan and head of marketing department of National Cinema Center Ruzanna Aleksanyan attended the discussion.
Director of YSU Culture Center Karine Davtyan spoke to us about the importance of discussions organized within the framework of the film club. According to her, through them, a number of urgent issues discussed in cinematography are raised.
"Discussions on both Armenian and foreign films are organized within the framework of the film club. It is very important that the new generation understands their essence and significance. "Today's meeting was a unique opportunity for students to ask the questions they were interested in to famous representatives of cinema," said K. Davtyan.
Referring to the activities of the film club and the opportunities provided to its member students, K. Davtyan highlighted the importance of cooperation with the National Cinema Center and emphasized, "The National Cinema Center has its own newspaper, where YSU students have the opportunity to publish their views and analyzes on films, which often win competitions held in various formats."
Martin Vardazaryan, a prominent representative of art, pointed out the director-musician relationship in cinema, assuring us that there is no good or bad music in cinema: there is the right music.
"The right music is the one that fits the 'atmosphere' of the time." Apart from that, the ratio of very simple sounds may not represent an aesthetic value, but it may have a different meaning in the film. This is why a film composer must be a versatile thinker and realize that he is writing music for the film and not for himself. It can be said that he should turn the invisible to visible, in other words, make visible what is audible and vice versa, because sometimes the sound is more influential than the image," emphasized M. Vardazaryan.
It should be noted that within the framework of the film club of YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center, films from different eras are regularly shown. Film screenings are attended by industry specialists and experienced representatives, with whom thematic discussions take place.
