DISCOVERING UNIVERSITY PERSONS. ANAHIT NIKOGHOSIAN
Anahit Nikoghosyan is one of YSU professors with long-term experience and one of the few who dedicated their life to science. We talked with Associate professor A. Nikoghosyan about her lifestyle, teaching methods, her love for university and work and other issues.
Narrated by Anahit Nikoghosyan.
Work path
After graduating from the Faculty of Physics of YSU, I entered the post-graduate course of the Faculty of Radiophysics. Along with studying, I participated in various conferences abroad, worked with famous scientists in the United Kingdom and Germany. I have been working at YSU since 1973, at first as a junior researcher and laboratory assistant, then as a lecturer at the Faculty of Radiophysics.
Teaching methods and approaches
Before coming to the class, I read several books; I also use various sources of social networks, online lectures posted on the pages of prestigious international universities. During laboratory work, I show students what I think they will find interesting. I emphasize the use of modern equipment during classes. I do everything to ensure that my students are informed about all the peculiarities of their profession, get the maximum amount of knowledge, which they will later apply in their work activities.
Students consider me their friend, which is the greatest reward of my job.
Discovering the true role of women
History has shown how strong the Armenian woman is. When the devoted children of the motherland fought on the battlefield, the Armenian woman fought heroically behind them, being a leader and devoting her life to her family and motherland.
Job offers from different countries
I have received many offers to work abroad, but I never thought for a second about quitting my work at Yerevan State University. I even received an offer from prestigious international organizations, but again I chose to work at my own university.
My work and daily life at YSU are intertwined…
