UNIVERSITY PEOPLE SUM UP THE PASSING YEAR: PART 2
University people continue to summarize the work they have done and the successes they have achieved during the past year. The year was cultural and full of job offers for YSU students and graduates.
Karine Nazaryan, Deputy Director of the YSU Alumni and Career Center, pointing out the most important collaborations and implemented projects during the year, emphasizes that the center has created wide job opportunities for YSU graduates and students throughout the year, as well as brought to life projects and courses for their professional growth and improvement of personal qualities.
"We have implemented two big projects that started in the last academic year. One of them was the program entitled "Career development and labor market integration of Diaspora youth", which had 40 participants. It was mainly intended for Diaspora youth, but to ensure the process of their involvement more smoothly, young people from Armenian were also included in the program, thanks to which 37 of the participants received internship and work opportunities. This program was one of the best and most effective methods of ensuring close contact between the communities of the Armenian Diaspora and overcoming communication barriers.
Next is the program entitled "Promoting Youth Inclusion through Employment and Participation", which was intended for 30 students displaced from Artsakh, mainly Kashatagh, because of the war. Within the framework of the program, almost all of the 30 students were allowed to work and practice in various organizations," explains K. Nazaryan.
The center also organizes various professional and multi-content training and supports students and graduates in creating their resumes.
Summarizing the speech, the deputy director of the center emphasized the project implemented jointly with the United Social Service and the "Teacher-Leader" program of "Teach for Armenia".
The university not only supports students in the above-mentioned matters but also creates conditions to demonstrate their abilities in the field of culture. The YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center is the best place where YSU students and graduates get the opportunity to participate in university and extra-university events. The director of the center, Karine Davtyan, pointing out the interest of the university students in the center, emphasizes that this year more than 450 new students joined the groups of the center.
"The year was filled with various events; it was special as the world-famous composer Tigran Mansuryan, accepting the invitation of YSU, participated in the organized event. In his speech, the maestro mentioned that YSU is a humanitarian center of Armenian studies, which gives meaning and an earthly essence to the accomplishments and achievements of science. In addition, the students of the center provided the cultural part of many important events, for example, during the opening and closing ceremonies of the International Biology Olympiad and the YSU graduation ceremony. Some of them participated in prestigious international competitions and returned with Grand Prix awards," says K. Davtyan.
Summarizing the speech, the director of the center points out, "In the end, the year was also marked by the fact that our center was named after the famous chansonnier Charles Aznavour."
