SONGS DEVOTED TO THE UNIVERSITY WERE PERFORMED
The Youth Song Contest dedicated to YSU was held at YSU Cultural Center today.
YSU Cultural Center jointly with the Union of Composers of Armenia organized a song contest dedicated to YSU.
Numerous applications for participation in the competition were received, from which 6 best songs were selected, which were presented today at the jury and audience judgment.
The competition jury was composed of Aram Satyan, President of the Union of Composers of Armenia, Director of Yerevan State College of Pop and Jazz Art, composer Stepan Baborosyan, composer Edgar Gyanjumyan, YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, YSU Cultural Center Choir, choirmaster of the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet Karen Sargsyan and Director of YSU Cultural Center Karine Davtyan.
Edmond Makaryan's "Mother University", Tigran Grigoryan's "University of Armenia", "Yerevan State University", Aregnaz Martirosyan's "I sing", Gayane Tadevosyan's "Cradle of my Soul University" and Anna Zakaryan's "Dedicated to Alma Mater" songs were performed.
By the decision of the jury, Gayane Tadevosyan took the third place at the Youth Song Contest on YSU, Anna Zakaryan was the second, and Edmond Makaryan took the first place.
By the way, singer Anahit Shahbazyan performed the song by Edmond Makaryan.
Edmond Makaryan said that though he did not graduate from YSU, but for both him and every Armenian, it is an important value.
Karine Davtyan informed all the participants that the awarding ceremony of the winners will be held next week.
