“ARMENIA WITH ITS AMAZING LANDSCAPE IS COMPETITIVE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD” HAYK AVETISYAN
The scientific theme “Memory landscape” as the subject of archaeological research (according to the materials of the northeastern districts of the Armenian Highlands, III-I millennium BC) presented by the head of the Chair of Archaeology and Ethnography of YSU faculty of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Hayk Avetisyan deserved the contractual (thematic) financing of the RA MES Science Council).
“Within the scope of the theme we offered we consider the cultural values of the Armenian Highlands particularly northeastern districts -Syunik-Artsakh areas in the Bronze and Iron Age period”, explains the professor.
In respond to ysu.am question why this theme as chosen the professor said, “Memory landscape” is a very interesting theme as it can answer numerous questions related to Armenian history, culture, location. For example, while studying the world history such as the history of people living in Middle America we learn about Aztecs, Inks due to the archaeological research and scientific works conducted in their settlements. We know that such civilization existed as the landscape of Middle America keeps the memory about them in ancient temples, complexes, constructions and items. Armenians are also peculiar as the mentioned-above folks: they also have the landscape in which the memory of millennia is preserved, however, unlike those civilizations Armenian still live and develop their civilization. It’s amazing and it should be spoken about.”
