DOCTOR OF THE CHAIR OF OPTICS, PROFESSOR RAFIK HAKOBYAN WAS ELECTED DEAN OF FACULTY OF PHYSICS
Today the session of the scientific council of the Faculty of Physics was held. The agenda included the issue of Dean’s election.
For the position of Dean the Chair of Optics offered the Deputy Dean, Doctor of the Chair of Optics,professor Levon Aslanyan. The Chair of Solid States proposed the Doctor of the same chair,professor Arshak Vardanyan and the Doctor of the Chair of Optics, professor Rafik Hakobyan proposed himself.
The meeting was chaired by the head of Academician Victor Hambardzumyan’s Chair of general Physics and Astrophysics, professor Atom Muradyan. YSU Vice-Rector Gegham Gevorgyan was present at the meeting and thanked the Den of the Faculty of Physics Roland Avagyan for many-year activity.
The candidates presented their programs outlining the problems the faculty faces and offered the variants of their solution. By closed and secret voting (18 votes “for” of 31 present members) the Doctor of the Chair of Optics, Professor Rafik Hakobyan was elected Dean of the Faculty.
According of the procedure the professor or associate professor who has PhD or Doctoral degree and at least 5 years of scientific and teaching experience can be elected Dean
