CHARLES AZNAVOUR COMMEORATION EVENT
Today, by the initiative of the Chair of French Philology of YSU Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology and the Center for Academic Achievements of Yerevan State Linguistic University Charles Aznavour commemoration event was organized. YSU auditorium after Charents was overcrowded with lecturers, students who came to listen to the songs of the great chasonnier.
The Dean of the faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology Samvel Abrahamyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Malkonyan, the musician,philologist,translator Perch Tyurabyan and his wife,Anahit Dashtents were present at the event. By the way, Annahit Dashtents is the daughter of the eminent Armenian writer Khachik Dashtents. Those present kept a minute-silence in commemoration of the world-famous Armenian.
The head of the Chair of French Philology Zaven Harutyunyan performed a greeting speech and invited the composer, poet, translator and performer of Aznavour’s songs Perch Tyurabyan on stage.
According to Harutyunyan, the translation and performance made by Tyurabyan reflect the contents of the poetic text.
Perch Tyurabyan started his speech with Charles Aznavour “I already saw” song, then the Maestro’s other songs were performed creating the peculiar atmosphere of Aznavour’s music world which will remain in everyone’s heart.
