“WE MUST DO OUR BEST TO PRESERVE THE PROPER SCIENTIFIC-EDUCATIONAL LEVEL OF THE FACULTY”: DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF BIOLOGY EMIL GEVORGYAN

The current Dean, correspondent member of the NAS, Doctor of Biology, Professor Emil Gevorgyan was nominated for the position of the Dean from five chairs of the faculty.

YSU Vice-Rector Gegham Gevorgyan was present at the meeting. The candidate presented his pre-election program, referred to a number of programs aimed at the faculty development to be implemented, as well as outlined those requiring urgent solution.

At the end of the meeting Vice-Rector Gegham Gevorgyan expressed satisfaction with the work done by the Dean and thanked him for many-year devoted activity. Gegham Gevorgyan referred to the problem of educational practice which is the issue of concern to teachers and students.

He mentioned that this academic year the educational practice of the students of the Faculty of Biology will be held at Tsaghkadzor educational and product complex too.

At the end of the meeting, as a result of secret ballot with 33 for and 1 invalid votes Emil Gevorgyan was elected Dean.

According the paragraphs 3 and 4 of the procedure of election of Dean of YSU faculty, the professor or associate professor with Doctoral or PhD degree who has at least 5 years of scientific and pedagogical experience can be elected Dean of a faculty.
