“SILK ROAD” SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM TO START
The Chair of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Faculty of Biology of YSU participates in “Science-based higher education network in the field of microbial biotechnology” grant program.
The Associate Professor of the Chair of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology of YSU Hovik Panosyan informed that the aim of the program is to establish a scientific and educational network “Silk Road” between the universities of the member countries which will stretch from Europe to China involving the Middle Asia and Caucasus.
“In fact, this program aims at improvement of the science-based higher education network in the field of fundamental and applied microbiology functioning at YSU Chair of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology by involvement of new countries”, added H. Panosyan.
According to him, the program envisages exchange visits of students and lecturers, organization of international conferences and summer schools, development and introduction of new educational programs, collaboration in publishing educational-methodological handbooks.
It should be noted that the grant has been allotted by the Center of International Cooperation in Higher Education adjunct to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway. The grant program involves a number of higher education establishments, scientific-research institutes and microbiological labs of Norway, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China.
The coordinator of the Armenian party of the grans H. Panosyan informed that the initial working meeting of the program was held in September, at National University after Zh. Balasagin of Kirgizstan.
