YOUNG BIOLOGISTS ARE AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN TSAGHKADZOR
On October 5-7, the 2nd international conference of young scientists dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the NAS was held in Tsaghkadzor. The conference was held under the title “Biodiversity and ecological problems of wildlife preservation”.
This was the topic of our conversation with the junior researcher of the Chair of Botany and Mycology of the Faculty of Biology, the member of the conference organizational group Lusine Margaryan.
It should be noted that the conference was organized due to the joint efforts of Yerevan State University, the RA NAS Institute of botany, the RA NAS Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology. 40 Armenian and 37 eminent and young scientists from India, Iran, Russia, Switzerland, Germany and Slovakia took part in the conference.
According to L. Margaryan, the international conference brought together the scientists from different countries who study the biodiversity of plants, fungi and animals and are engaged in the problems of their preservation. Lusine Margaryan informed that the young scientists came up with interesting reports representing the results of their research which were summarized in the collection of theses.
The member of the conference organizational group believes that such international youth conferences contributed to the study and preservation of biodiversity which is considered a priority problem throughout the world. “Such conferences create a good platform for experience exchange and play an important role for the implementation of a number of nature protection actions in Armenia.
