EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE STATE OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA
The exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the independent state of Czechoslovakia was opened in the library of YSU.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Armenia H.E. Petr Mikyska was present at the opening event during which he referred to the symbol of the day stressing that in spite of all challenges, the Czechs and the Slovakians, these two Slavonic nations once had a common state, now live in two different countries but they are united by the Slavonic origin and European values.
The Ambassadors of Georgia, Japan and other countries in Armenia, YSU Vice Rectors, politicians, guests were present at the opening ceremony. The Vice-Rector for Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan mentioned that holding such events at YSU has become a tradition.
Exhibitions like this show that Yerevan State university plays an important role in public life. “We are always willing to cooperate with embassies as it promotes the process of internationalization of the university”, said R. Markosyan. According to Mr. Markosyan one of the themes of the exhibition was “The spring of Praha” which was interesting for Armenians to study students’ participation in political and then revolutionary processes.
