MEETING WITH THE EDUCATIONAL ADVISOR OF ARMENIAN OFFICE OF “EDUCATIONUSA” SHUSHANNA ABOVYAN

Presenting the educational system of the USA she spoke about the differences the main one of which is decentralization, i.e. there is no state supervisory circle, each university sets requirements and a procedure of application. Shushanna Abovyan presented the differences between American community colleges and universities.

Referring to the main requirements to the admission she explained the peculiarities of TOEFL and IELTS tests, the importance of motivation letters and necessity of working experience. Shushanna Abovyan also spoke about the problems related to visa system. According to her, sometimes students want to leave the country taking the opportunity to get education and this is the main reason why the embassy interviewers refuse to give a visa.
The speaker drew the attention of those present to the advantages of getting education abroad. According to her, communication with people of other religion, culture and way of life makes it possible to get broader knowledge as a result of which the outlooks can change and expand.
