NEW PERSPECTIVES OF ARMENIN-CHINESE COOPERATION: CONFERENCE AT YSU
The conference entitled “5 years of “One Belt One Road” initiative: new perspectives of Armenian-Chinese cooperation” has started today at YSU Academic Council Session Hall.
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ruben Melkonyan, the Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Han Dachuan were present at the opening of the conference.
Han Dachuan made a speech at the ceremony of opening. He referred to the Center for Chinese Studies opened today at the Faculty of Oriental Studies mentioning that opening of such centers has special significance for China as it contributes to development and strengthening of bilateral relations.
“One Belt One Road” initiative has a strong potential, and we believe it has regional significance. We attach importance to the further development of this initiative and out steps are aimed at it”, said the speaker.
The head of the Chair of international Relations and Diplomacy of the Faculty of International Relations of YSU Vahram Petrosyan made a repot during the event. He referred to the political situations developing in the South Caucasus, its role and potential.
“In this region particular attention and interest have emerged towards Chinese culture, language and China in general. It should be noted that in this aspect Armenia has an important significance as once the famous Silk Road was passing through our country”, said Vahram Petrosyan.
Related to the Armenian-Chinese relations the speaker expressed hope that in near future they will get a new impulse and promote the economic and cultural progress of the two countries.
