REPESENTATIVES OF “GLOBAL AGENDA FOR SOCIAL WORK” PROGRAM ARE AT THE FACULTY OF SOCIOLOGY
Prior to the Social Worker Day, the Association of Social Workers of Armenia and YSU Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies have organized a meeting discussion.
The representatives of the International Federation of Social Workers David Jones and Herbert Paulischin.
The Dean of the Faculty of Sociology of YSU Arthur Mkrtchyan made a greeting speech.
The head of the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies Mira Antonyan introduced the guests and the main aspects of their activity.
David Jones if the coordinator of the “Global Agenda of Social Work” program of the International Federation of Social Workers. He expressed gratitude for the welcome and noted that he is ready to cooperate with Armenian representatives carrying out experience exchange.
Jones referred to the global problems of 2018 among which he outlined climate changes, economic growth of Asian countries, inequality, neoliberalism challenges, migration crisis, development of artificial intellect. He spoke about national identification and globalization.
The speaker presented three international organizations IASSW (International Association of Schools of Social Work), ICSW (International Council of Social Welfare) and IFSW (International Federation of Social Workers), which bring together the educational establishments and public organizations of the social field.
Herbert Paulischin participated in social reforms in a number of countries, had significant contribution to social work development in the international arena.
During the discussion the guests presented the experience of their countries and organizations in the solutions of various countries.
It should be noted that the meeting is a part of the series of events being organized jointly by the RA Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the UNISEF, the World Bank and the Armenian Association of Social Workers within the framework of the forum entitled “ The role of social protection on the agenda of sustainable development: leaving no on behind”.
